What is UMF™?
Mānuka Honey comes from the nectar of the flower of the Mānuka bush (Leptospermum scoparium) which is indigenous to New Zealand. It is the nectar and the bee that give this honey its unique properties. The number represents the unique signature compounds characteristic of this honey which ensures purity and quality. These include: the key markers of Leptosperin, DHA and Methylglyoxal (MGO).
In 1974, a visionary beekeeper (Claude) and a hippie surfer nomad (Alan) met, immediately forming an unlikely partnership that would span for decades. Founded on the virtues of natural health, community, and environmental stewardship, Comvita has blossomed from a local co-op to the trusted leader in Manuka around the world. Claude and Alan’s core values have been proudly upheld every step of the way.
